The circle has been a subject for many contemporary artist. It represents many things including maternity.

This piece was inspired by the moon, the maternal symbol in Inca and pre-Inca culture.

The inperfect circle is painted on heavy duty paper which allowed me to carve lines rather than draw them. The result is a very intimate and textural feel.

This lovely piece was inspired by the brighly colored hats wore by the women in the Andes.

A deep graphite color circle is layered with pink and yellow gel inks.

Acrylic on heavy canvas paper.

Paper measures 24" x 18"

The circle measures 14" diameter.
